A few days ago, Jackie Hayes tweeted “I am going to lay down and become one with the sidewalk,” and I felt that. Sometimes, being tangible is a bit too much to take on, and acting like a sidewalk feels a lot easier than going out and making small talk. This is especially true when you’ve spent over a year inside and suddenly it’s summer and everyone wants you to come out so you can hang out, and you’re just waiting for fall so the leaves can drop and you can pretend to be the sidewalk and no one will notice. Unless that’s just me. At least I can take comfort in Jackie Hayes, not only for tweeting the same sentiment, but also because her new EP, There’s Always Going to Be Something, officially comes out tomorrow.
There’s always going to be something to take comfort in, and right now, it’s Jackie Hayes. If you’re waiting for new EP like me, you can listen to this playlist she’s curated for Slumber in the meantime (spoiler, she’s waiting for fall, too):
These are some of the songs I’ve been listening to recently. There’s been a lot of new music I’ve been excited about, and you can find some of those songs here. I also added a few songs that I grew up listening to. I hope you enjoy it.
